Our 5th Wedding Anniversary!

Jarret and I celebrated 5 wonderful years of marrige last Friday. We took a mini-vacation to Possum Kingdom lake, with boat in tow. Each set of grandparents spent a day-and-a-half getting to love on little Julia so that we could have some time to ourselves just the two of us! Thank you SO much Grammy & Papa and Gran & Poppy...this was much needed and we had an amazing time.

The next day we slept in (wonderful!), then spent the afternoon on the water. In about 5 hours time, we shared the water with one other boat for approximately 10 minutes. It was as if we had a private lake to ourselves! God kept painting the clouds with this gorgeous rainbow effect above our resort.



That night, we went to a nice anniversary dinner at the on-site restaurant, then later sat at the bar to watch the Mavs beat up on the Spurs.

When we returned home from the trip, we had the boat at the house for a couple of days before taking it back to the storage. Daddy thought Julia might enjoying hanging out on the back of the boat and also wanted pictures of their matching "Got Wake?" shirts. Julia had a blast hanging out on the platform and playing with Daddy's wakeboarding rope and handle.

Julia and I had cabin fever, so we took a quick trip to Grammy's house on Thursday. Since the weather was great, we let Julia explore the front yard.

...which brings us to the reason we call her our little Michael Jordan. She has started doing most anything and everything with her tongue sticking out. Is this a normal discovery or phase that I was unaware of?! Either way, it's really funny to watch her.

And last, but NOT least, here's one of my favorites. This is the only time I can recall where Julia has purposefully smiled for the camera! (Makes me very jealous Andrea that your daughter naturally loves the camera...and that it loves her!)

Poor Julia has not felt 100% much of the last 3 weeks, and I've had to apologize the couple times when I've lost my patience with her whining...especially considering that even when sick, she's still a really good baby. But when she has felt well, she has been a complete joy. She's fully mobile now between crawling, cruising, and short-distance walking and she loves every minute of exploration! She smiles and talks constantly, loves to clap for herself and hear others applaud her, and is just such a delight to be with. We love you so very, very much baby girl!

Easter with the Trimbles

On Sunday, we had a great time with my parents at church and then a wonderful Easter lunch back at their house. Sorry it took so long to get these posted Grammy & Papa!

Julia with her Easter coat that Grammy had bought her. It had precious rabbit ears and even a carrot in the pocket. It was so cute on her, and it was actually cool enough that morning that she needed to wear it!

All in all, Julia had an amazing first Easter. We look forward to future years as she begins to understand the true meaning of Easter and how amazing it is to have a Savior who is risen and lives!

Easter Saturday with the Eubanks Clan

On Saturday, we celebrated Easter with Jarret's extended family in McKinney. Julia was overdressed for the occasion, but since we wouldn't see Gran & Poppy on Easter Sunday, we knew they'd want to see her looking pretty in her Easter dress!

First Steps

I have much to post for her 10-month birthday recap, but haven't had a chance. As proud parents though, Jarret and I couldn't wait to post this.



It started because Jarret was letting her practice standing by herself for a few seconds at a time. Instead of standing still, she decided to take a couple steps. So we grabbed the video camera, and had her go between us.

She was so giddy and proud of herself (if you can't tell in the video, she's beaming), as were we. A few minutes later though, emotional tears were rolling down my cheeks. I always thought that walking was such a major milestone that signaled the beginning of a child's transition from baby toward toddler-hood. Her first steps really hit me hard of how much she's growing up!
